I bet u've heard it L !!!!
PRECIOUS
Precious and fragile things Need special handling My God what have we done to you
We always tried to share The tenderest of care Now look what we have put you through
Things get damaged Things get broken I thought we’d managed But words left unspoken Left us so brittle There was so little left to give
Angels with silver wings Shouldn’t know suffering I wish I could take the pain for you
If God has a master plan That only he understands I hope it’s your eyes He’s seeing through
Things get damaged Things get broken I thought we’d managed But words left unspoken Left us so brittle There was so little left to give
I pray you’ll learn to trust Have faith in both of us And keep room in your hearts for two
Things get damaged Things get broken I thought we’d managed But words left unspoken Left us so brittle There was so little left to give 903

ahh Depeche mode has some greeeat lyrics! My fave is the one that goes
"Young girl at seventeen slashed her wrists, bored with life." and then something about God having a sick sense of humour. Striking lyrics, I haven't heard it in a while though

Blasphemous Rumours by Depeche Mode
Girl of sixteen, whole life ahead of her Slashed her wrists, bored with life Didn't succeed, thank the lord For small mercies
Fighting back the tears, mother reads the note again Sixteen candles burn in her mind She takes the blame, it's always the same She goes down on her knees and prays
I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours But i think that god's got a sick sense of humor And when i die i expect to find him laughing
Girl of eighteen, fell in love with everything Found new life in jesus christ Hit by a car, ended up On a life support machine
Summer's day, as she passed away Birds were singing in the summer sky Then came the rain, and once again A tear fell from her mother's eye
I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours But i think that god's got a sick sense of humor And when i die i expect to find him laughing
Found it. I believe it first appeared on the October 25, 1990 release of "Some Great Reward" btw, I also found it listed in a discussion of saddest songs ever 908

it's very very sad, and to a certain degree I think it's a "pissed off" song. When I heard it the first time, a friend of my family (17 years old boy) had just died in a boat wreck and I was feeling the same that the chorus was saying "god has a sick sense of humour"
Of course, it's a very over-dramatic song, but I think DM did a good job with such a depressing theme!

"Why must the good die young?!" - Shin from The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron.
;D
yeah, it's sad when someone young dies. But yeah, I need to find out about this group more. I'm having dial-up, it's not helping with my music-craving soul. It's driving me nuts but I'll be applying DSL soon. So yay to that.
