*phew* haha I don't think we have talked before, so, hey! ;D I've done gigs for my schools (talent shows, my 8th grade graduation, Christmas shows) but not like Michelle Branch, lol, however, she is a huge inspiration to me. I do happen to own a Taylor 614ce, but you really can't relate that to Michelle much, since she doesn't play Taylors live anymore. It is an awesome guitar though. Nice to see another musician on these boards! Hey Laura!! *waves* This Christmas was a very lucky one, hehe, hope you had a great Christmas, too! Hope to talk to you soon!

Where in the world did my Icon come from? LOL..Very nice. ANyways, I understand that you want to be yourself. I WANT TO BE MYSELF. But to others, they see us as copy cats. Hince, why we must stand out to some reason. Larua, we should some how work together, and win it! Kristen, I sure hope you spent all that money on that guitar, before you figured out about Michelle. I was at Guitar center the other day, and a boy wanted a Gibson just because one of the guitarist in the AAR group had it. Guitars are expensive and wonderful, it's not the name, it's the person playing it. Keep that in mind before you buy another thousand dollar guitar. *hint dean!! get one! now! hint* haha. Good luck to you too girl! You're young and kickin' it. Haha thanks for joinin' my boards Laura. I hope we get to know each other well too. So once you're famous, I can be like..."i'll be your jessica harp" HAHAHA OOOO ice cold no? I'M KIDDING! I'm kidding. haha. I hope you don't take the kids back at the boards to heart. They are mindless drones that only listen to michelle Branch, and eat everyone up tha wants to be famous. (yes, I'm very bitter But thats why you love me! ;D ) Keep your head up, and you'll be there in no time! Give us your music...because we demand it! Rock on!

Nope, it was after. I knew what I wanted and liked. I loved maple wood, and together with sitka spruce, it's heavenly, I don't know if you've ever played one like that. My parents supported the decision of letting me buy an expensive guitar. They are the ones who drove me around to quite a few music stores to try out tons of guitars before I found one that fit. At that point, I wasn't looking at model numbers, I was simply grabbing one and strumming it for a few minutes. It either fit, or it didn't. In most cases, it didn't. I thought it would be fun to try some Taylors, so I just grabbed random ones, and it started feeling better. I knew I couldn't afford one at the time, but I thought if I waited a little while, I'd be able to come back and try some more out and possibly buy one. It came down to a Gibson acoustic (it too had maple back and sides and sitka spruce top), a Taylor 814ce, W14ce, or the forbidden 614ce. The 814ce was deeper sounding than that W14ce, and the W14ce was slightly deeper sounding than the 614ce. And the Gibson (I don't even remember the model) started feeling like it didn't fit. So, like Survivor, it was the 1st to go. I was in quite a pickle for a few months. I couldn't have all 3, my goodness, I'd still be in debt. Later on, the 814ce was the 2nd to be crossed off the list. Then one day, in my grandma's friend's music store, they had both a 614ce and a W14ce. He offered me a great deal that would've saved me about $200 on each, and I played both of them for over an hour in a private back room. My mom said "You can pick one today, and we'll get it, if you'd like." I started sweating. Seriously, it was hard. They sounded so good. I was in like...heaven for an hour. We left the store without one. Eh, to make a long story short...(well...this isn't exactly short...is it?) It took another few weeks, then went to a different store to order a brand new one. A 614ce. It fit more. The neck was better feeling than the W14ce. To this day, eventhough Taylor no longer makes the Walnut series regularly, I still would love to have a W14ce. Most people just don't understand. A lot of people look at it as though it's a sin to buy a guitar someone else has, and it annoys me. If you can't buy a guitar someone else has, you just can't get a guitar. I know a lot about guitars. Just today I was reading a thread on the Wreckers boards about the 614ce, everyone is like "OMG IT'S THE SAME GUITAR MICHELLE STARTED OUT WITH! YOU CAN'T GET THAT BECAUSE SHE HAD IT! OMG YOU'RE SUCH A COPY CAT!!!" That really annoys me. In the end, it ain't their guitar, they're not paying for it, chances are, some of those people never played one. So, I don't see the big deal. I think it's stupid. When someone sees someone owns a Gibson Les Paul, they don't relate it to Slash. How about a strat? Lots of people own those. Martins? Same thing, lots of people love them. Gibsons? and on and on...There's only so many guitars in the world. Forgive me. I get touchy on this subject because I was put in that category when I first bought my 614ce over a year ago. I am my own person. It's just 1 of my 10 guitars. I love music and I love making it. I'm extremely picky when it comes to guitars (or basses or drumsets or anything else I play) so for anyone to think I got this guitar because of Michelle is insane because then they obviously don't know who I am. I didn't really like Deans, I tried a few in one of the music stores once. They didn't fit. Everyone is different and we all have different tastes in what we love. This is long, sorry, I like explaining myself pretty well. I guess if I have to sum this up in one single line, it would be: If the guitar fits, buy it. *edit* Also, I don't "follow" people, I get "inspired" by them. and Thank you.

*claps* Aww Kristen, I'm so sorry people put you in that category a year ago.. they don't know any better.. forgive them. btw, I like your one sentence description. Hey Sunny! Nah.. I'm not taking what they say into heart.. people tend to be annoying sometimes and likes to insult you more than complimenting you. I sure hope this board is a beautiful board where nobody is insulting anybody. Everybody here's a friend so I'm happy! Thanks! I've been thinking a lot today about this music business thing.. I'm prolly gonna post on my xanga coz everytime I post on my xanga, it's like writing my diary then I'll copy and paste to the official thread.. *burp.. oops! excuse me!* Yeah.. lots of copy and paste thingy going on but guess that's the way to do it. lol.

Kristen...You rock You really do, and I'm glad that you picked a guitar right for you and not just because someone has it. You read some of the topics at TWMB. "i want this because michelle branch has it!" THANK YOU! I'm sick of people who wants to be JUST LIKE HER. Like i said before, the strap, guitar, shirt and PICKS?!?! C'mon. I'm glad you me and a hand full of others out there aren't like that! More power to you! you're are kickin' it. As for deans, gotta love that round body. Its a little bigger (the performer e) so the sounds a little deeper. I think, everyone should have like a round of guitars. One from each make ;D What a pretty sight, what unity! I'm going to get a Martin next. Any model suggestion? I loveeeeeeeeeee martins....MmmMmmmM...those are the s-h-*-t. You're annoyace with people saying ones a copy cat is some what like mine (did that make sense?) Mine is when I see young girls and guys (and i can not stress this out enough, but ADULTS even) want to be exactly like them. I mean like you said, you're not a follower, but are inspriered by. (i think I said someting about a thin line..blah blah blah GOOD for U. If only everyone else would be more themselves... sorry for that rambling. We so rock. ;D haha Larua!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just put aside what we say..and follow your heart. You don't know where which way it would lead. Good luck! I'd suggest watching Sleepover and drinking hot choclate while eating cookies with your closest friends! That should then clear your mind and then you can think. DO AS I SAY NOW! You know you like it. Kristen...you're one awesome mature 16 year old. YOu're sooooooooo cool I wanna be yours and lauras groupie..because you're THAT cool hahah wow 2 hours of sleep..can get to ya mind..i want apples

Guess there's not much to celebrate.. blah! *off to listen to more Caryl's songs and post on TWMB... then will head over to xanga. ;D*
