dang! I missed that you posted before me! lol okay. I'll reply now. *dork*
you feel it's easier to write when you're in the studio? Hmm.. I actually love the peace and quiet of my own mind. Well, it's hardly ever quiet up there, but I suppose you know what I mean?
I write on the bus and create music whenerever I feel my guitar calling me.
come to think of it, sometimes it's actually easier for me towrite when i'm in front of the computer with word and audacity up, so yeah.. I do kinda get what you're saying when you feel it's easier to write in that setting.

Yeah I can see how the lyrics is a little bit like Walk Away. That song's pretty good. The tunes familiar though becoz it brings back something from the 90's. Well, at least to me.. I don't know why but that tune just sounds familiar. lol. It might have been a few songs like that in the recent years. Well, just to let you know a little bit about my band... The band director likes to call the band a rock band. We like a whole lot of rock. Our lead guitarist is pretty good at playing rock lead coz he use to be in a rock band. So if there's anything that you wrote that sounds like Kelly, Ashlee or Avril, it's definitely something he might put to thought. I'm unsure about the band right now although I'm still gripping firmly on the stage and want to stay on with this band if they can put into action of what they had planned for us. One of the guitarist/vocalist has left the band becoz he got a job in Disney and has now been asked to prepare 10 songs to be recorded. He's one lucky bastard but he wasn't thankful about it.. well, at least to the manager and director (I don't know him that long to judge if he's thankful or not thankful) They were pretty mad that he's leaving and the fact that he had learnt so much when he started in the band. They told me that the first time they met him, he was just an ordinary musician but when they started practicing, he became better. Now he's leaving and they sort of felt betrayed. I don't feel betrayed but I'm starting to feel the struggle in the numbers of bandmates. The lead guitarist never came to practice anymore. The percussionist is a professional so all he thinks about is money and thus, never came to practice anymore becoz we never did anything with big crowds. The other guitarist left for a job in Disney. The bass player went to Texas becoz of family. So it's pretty much left with 2 persons which is the drummer/director and me. Then he asked the 14 year old bass player who plays in his Sunday service to join. She's eager to play and we performed last Sunday together in a small spanish church. It was just the 3 of us now. We still haven't heard from the others yet but the director was sure that if the guitarist left, the percussionist would leave and so would the lead guitarist. Now I'm sad but I'm happy becoz we can be like Green Day. Still rocking on! lol.

Well that's great to get to hear about your band, even if it sounds a little like you've disbanded (pun intended) to me. I can honestly say that I have never heard the song by Kelly that you're talking about, but I know she has a song by that name because at first I thought that she did another Christina rip off. The song I'm writing right now is inspired both by pop/rnb (although it's not rnb) and early Train (think "Meet Virginia"). If I wanna give it up, I dunno, but I'll let you hear it if I finish it and you could tell me if it's something you think your band might want to go for. It's always nice to know. Google knows I can't sing more of my own songs on "that" topic, so if I could write songs for someone else, that would be great. I hope that Stamps & Coins keeps together. A 14 year old girl bass player sounds a little... young tho. I dunno? But hopefully you'll keep it together. (Oh and *flips off* the percussionist, but you really shouldn't use a proffessional musician who's not committed to the band). gonna go grab a bite to eat. I'm huuungry!

I do kinda get what you're saying when you feel it's easier to write in that setting. The studio is wayyyy more quiet than my head up there. I swear I can hear it yelling out words sometimes when it's quiet in the studio. ;D I love the studio setting becoz there's the mic, the guitar, the amp, the electric guitar, the bass, the bongos, the drums... everything is right there.. all set up.. all ready for you to use them. The syncronizer is ever ready to record any tunes you'd like to hum out. I like to write everywhere.. but nothing beats being in the studio. I read once in a taylor guitar papers in which there was an interview with Sarah McLachlan. She said that on the days she feels inspired, she would go into her studio at home, press record and just hum whatever tunes or sing whatever words she feel like at that moment and then she would play it back to listen what she did. That's what I love to do. I like to record raw moments of how I got the song done. It just amazes me to see that broken sentences laid out in different times could be fixed together and turned into a song that you love dearly with all your heart. I just love those moments. lol.

I'd love to hear the song once you're done with it. I'm sure I'll be all ears with it. The director keeps on reassuring me again that Stamps & Coins will survive and it will live long. Musicians will come and go and the band that will always be in his heart is Stamps & Coins. I'm sure one day I won't stay in that group but he said that people will still always be able to hear the band Stamps & Coins around. You've never heard Kelly's new song Walk Away? You should! lol. It's pretty catchy. Very catchy at first I have to say and then I have to pass it becoz I've got All American Rejects to listen to coz my band's covering it for fun and for jamming purposes. I'm also listening to Stacie again to get more inspirations from what I've already got from her. I'm excited about the song that you're gonna let me hear now. I'm definitely up for any try and any challenge. I was thinking of giving every genre that I can place myself in, a try. I love Micheal Buble and after hearing his duet with Nelly Furtado in Quando Quando Quando, I'm eager to explore that genre. After that my brother introduced me to Natalie Merchant. Not one of the best vocalist if compared to Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera or Jessica Simpson but she's got her way in jazz and blues. Wow. Her song One Fine Day definitely got me thinking about getting a vocal trainer right now and covering that song in a couple of weeks. The manager's promising me the vocal training sessions. I can't wait. The fact that I don't have to pay a single penny for it? Heck yes!! I treasure and appreciate the chance, every single pieces of it. I can't wait. I'm anticipated. oh and by the way, thanks for flipping off at the percussionist. hehe. I'm not sure why he's accepted into the band. That's one part of the story that I haven't got to yet. All I know is who got in first and who came next. They started months before without me. After I came in, the band heats up a little bit but then it started they started to stray and well, it ends up with me as the lead vocalist now. It's a disadvantage really becoz I'm straining my voice everyday. I'm not a professional when it comes to how to use my voice so I'm waiting for the vocal lessons. Thank God that my sore throat is going away though. I'm really really happy. I'm better now and ready for Friday's jam!! Oh, go grab something to eat. Just make sure you come back and we talk again! lol. Working hours are up now so I'm expecting people to come back home and they'll be expecting something to eat so I gotta go prepare something for them to eat while I watch more of the Black Eyed Peas and their friends.. or perhaps more movies. For now, I feel like reading a book.

hey I'm back I read your message and I'm gonna reply. Are you still here?
I think it's awesome that you're gretting free (!!!) vocal lessons. Awesome awesome awesome. Are you warming up your voice every day before you sing (or even just every day, period?) Because I have been recommended that I start warming up my voice if I want to keep it longer than past my 30th birthday! lol. That scared me, so I think I'm gonna have him send me some tips on how to do that. Lol.

one of my greatest material wishes for the future is that I can build a studio at home where I can just mope around all day and be creative, just like you described up there. I'd love to just see how Sarah M. works.. she's truly mesmerizing sometimes. I can't believe how beautiful her song "angel" is. Gosh.

I'm on there like all the time but nobody's hardly on there so I sort of gave up on that a little bit. it's almost midnight over there already? wow. it's only 6pm here so I'm not cooking just yet. I'm getting in the shower and then I'm gonna cook so maybe during those hours, you might hit the bed already so we'll talk again tomorrow if you're on here. I'll probably be taking care of my mum's store but I'll bring my laptop there so I can get internet access. Oh by the way, there's cable in the studio so if you've got any song links for me... post it! I'll download it when I'm there. I'll have practice tomorrow for our friday jamming. If you don't wish to share it, I'll be looking for it in my PMs. hehe. but yeah.. please please please do send me your songs! how bout the ones on your myspace.. they're not downloadable there right? I don't allow downloads for mine. Can you send those to me too? That'd be great coz I want them to take a listen while we set up the equipments. wuff you Ama. It's been great talking to ya like this. Totally spamming the boards! hahaha. Oh and about the shutting down thing. It's not only me.. but if there's inactivity going on around the boards, they'll shut it down so I'm thankful that Cath and you still roams around. Haven't seen Roger much but Cath is always around. I love that girl!! She rocks too.

yeah, the 'FREE' part is the most exciting part. However I feel like there's gonna be pressure after that becoz they'll be expecting me to do more better in a short span of time. *sigh* I guess life is never easy. Yeah, I do warm up my vocals everytime before I sing. I usually hum, do some la la la scale singing/warming up and sing jazzy songs like Quando Quando Quando. Or just sing tunes that I like softly.. the soft ones. Your dream is exactly similar to mine and what pleasure it would be if I get to see Sarah in action, making a song. She has one of the best voices out there and the way she sings her songs, the way she portrays it out, the way she puts essence in it.. Oh boy... I'm absolutely mesmerized every other time. She never fail to mesmerize me. Like the song on Toy Story 2.. it's a tear jerking song. 'Angel' like you said is probably one of the most played songs in the world.. it has to. 'I Will Remember You' is also a great song. Man, her songs aren't jumpy which probably made her not popular among the teens but teens like me, LOVE IT! She's absolutely amazing. It'll be awesome to see her play live. I'm not sure if she's doing any touring or perhaps a concert right now.. but I'd definitely go see her. Walk Away by Kelly is an okay song. It's not like L.O.V.E from Ashlee although it could be on the same level of catchiness. Once you finish you song, you can listen to it. I don't want you to get distracted either. hehe. I can't wait. I'm excited as anything to hear it. Wow, we've had a looong conversation. I hope we can do this again before the break's over for both of us. I have until this sunday. how bout you?
